When you say the name Michael Rapaport, my ears prick right up. What can I say? I’m a fan. And if you're like me, you’ll want to get the Rapaport Report as soon as possible. The latest? His new series, The War At Home leaves a bad taste in your mouth and a lot to be desired. The jokes are in poor taste, the plot is too "in your face" and even the laugh track sounds like it's faking it.
Is it because it’s not enough Rapaport? I should say not. In 24 minutes, he was on screen for all but 3.
This led me to a disturbing voyage of introspection and self-discovery: Was it possible that Michael Rapaport is like cotton candy, and too much of this gruff-but-loveable New York persona isn't so tasty after the 12th bite? I think this may be the case. But I'll check it out again next week to make sure I wasn't just the victim of superhigh expectations. Hopefully, I’ll be pleasantly surprised.
