Tue, Sep 20, 5:00 pmI was watching The Emmys with tears in my eyes last night, and that’s never happened before. First they were tears of disappointment, as I was totally hoping for a Desperate Housewifes sweep. But then, as time went on, I came around. At first, I was a little mad when Doris Roberts won the Outstanding Supporting Comedic Ensemble Actress award, because I wanted that hilarious thing from Will and Grace to win. But when Brad Garrett, who resembles nothing less frightening than a freakish Frankensteinian terror, won for Outstanding Supporting Comedic Ensemble Actor, I started getting a little misty eyed. I realized how much I already missed them on my TV. Then when they won for Outstanding Comedy Series, I was bawling like a baby. I stood up and applauded them for nine years of visiting me in my house, every week. Congratulations for nothing less than what you deserved, and it was a pleasure to see you out like this.
