Jackie Harvey graduated from Viterbo University with a degree in English literature in 1990. After honing his writing and copy-editing skills at The Sunshine Shopper, he became The Onion's entertainment columnist in 1994, replacing the outgoing Archie "Arch" Danielson. Currently, Harvey writes his regular column, "The Outside Scoop," as well as his blog, "Harveywood!"

Tue, Oct 11, 4:40 pmI was kind of shaken up the other day when I heard that Reese Witherspoon was dead. I can't remember where the news came from, but for a few moments, I was under the impression that she had died in a car crash. No one I asked had heard anything about it. I thought I was crazy! But, it turns out that I was kind of right. She was just playing a ghost in a movie. I need to stop falling asleep in front of the TV. That stuff really gets into my brain. Maybe I'll take a little time to watch it tonight if I can get over to the theater in time after dropping off my old clothes at the thrift store.
