Junior Account Executive

The Onion, America's Finest News Source, is looking for a confident and assertive Junior Account Executive for our Boulder office. This person will be working with one of the company's top producing Account Executives, learning from the best. Interest in an eventual career in sales is required.

Qualified candidates should have some in school experience, but this is an entry-level position. Only candidates who have an interest in sales and meeting/exceeding goals will be considered.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Handling a diverse range of advertising sales activities.
  • Contacting local clients to schedule in-person meetings.
  • Ability to closing business, making sales and hitting sales targets.
  • Assisting with a diverse range of advertising sales activities.
  • Analyzing client objectives; preparing advertising proposals that match client's objectives.
  • Assisting with the development of agency and direct client relationships.
  • Ability to perform necessary follow-up to the sale, such as solving disputes and collecting of overdue balances.
  • Coordinating with the Production Department to ensure proper ad placement.
  • Attending promotional events, networking, etc.
  • Advanced time management skills within a deadline specific environment.
  • Candidates should be able to position a brand, target a certain audience, and understand branding campaigns.
  • Only those with strong Microsoft Suite experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), ideally on a MAC, will be considered.

Requirements: Valid state drivers license in good standing and means of transportation required.
